Andrew Tchekalenkov is a licensed psychotherapist with over a decade of experience treating addiction, trauma, anxiety, depression, PTSD, and codependency. His approach is rooted in compassion and curiosity, providing a space where clients feel seen, heard, and supported without judgment.

He specializes in substance use, trauma, anxiety, and depression. Andrew has worked in community-based residential programs such as Phoenix House and the Educational Alliance, where he led therapy groups focused on Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Seeking Safety, and Healthy Relationships.

Andrew also volunteered with Back on My Feet, a fitness-based program supporting individuals in recovery through running and community engagement. He ran three NYC Marathons with program participants, witnessing firsthand how structure, exercise, and connection can support long-term sobriety. He integrates this holistic perspective into his therapeutic work today.

Outside of his clinical work, Andrew has a lifelong commitment to physical activity. He competed in judo throughout his youth, winning the East Coast Judo Tournament four times and receiving the Ambassador’s Cup for outstanding performance. He was also captain of his high school wrestling team and played junior hockey at age 19. Today, he continues to stay active in wrestling and hockey. He has also worked as a swim instructor, lifeguard, wrestling coach, and restaurant cashier—early roles that shaped his values around discipline, service, and human connection
